Martian Successor Nadesico: The Motion Picture – Prince of Darkness (機動戦艦ナデシコ -The prince of darkness- Kidō Senkan Nadeshiko -Za purinsu obu dākunesu-?), or Prince of Darkness Nadesico, is a 1998 anime film written and directed by Tatsuo Satō that is a sequel to the Martian Successor Nadesico television series. The story is a direct sequel to Martian Successor Nadesico: The Blank of 3 Years, a video game for the Sega Saturn set immediately after the TV series ends and before the movie begins. The movie won the Animage Grand Prix in 1998.[1] The movie was meant to be viewed along with Martian Successor Nadesico: The Blank of 3 Years, a video game for the Sega Saturn that takes place immediately after the TV series ends, and before the movie begins, filling in on details that leads up to the plot of the movie. However, the game was never translated and released outside of Japan.
Plot[]
Act 1[]
A spaceship leaves behind a jetstream in the sky above a cemetery where Kouichiro Misumaru tends to the grave of his daughter and son-in-law, Yurika Misumaru and Akito Tenkawa, respectively. Knelt down, praying, he stands up and asks Yurika if she's getting along well with Akito-kun.
In space, at Terminal Colony Number 8- Shirahime, the Yamabuki task force is ordered to back-up the Blue group. Now the first and second warning-defense lines have been breeched, a pilot with the call-sign "Purple eye" panics. Men in long cloaks walk down a corridor. Orange and Vermilion groups are ordered by a commander to stay at their current positions whereas Red group is ordered to pull back to point alpha.
